1. Information We Collect

When you use Ontolize, we collect information you provide directly:

• Account information: name, email, phone number, city, and profile photo.
• Profile content: about text, basics, visibility settings, and other profile details you add.
• Structured life data: moments, momentum currents, memories, taste signals, and notes you create.
• People context: who you know, how you know them, and relationship context you add.
• Private structure: entries and fields you keep private but still use to make your own model more useful.

We also collect usage data automatically:

• Analytics events: feature usage, session duration, and navigation patterns.
• Location data: approximate or precise location only when you grant permission for live context, place attachment, or nearby features.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To run the core product surfaces for Now, People, Taste, Momentum, and Memory.
• To reflect your own structure back to you through summaries, shared context, and recommendations.
• To support explicit compare/connect flows and people relevance based on real overlap and recent context.
• To improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns.
• To send you service emails such as login, password reset, and account notices.

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Visibility Controls

You control who sees your content:

• Private fields can stay visible only to you while still contributing to your own structured model.
• Surface-level visibility controls whether details appear in shared or social contexts.
• Relationship context is not broadly broadcast; it is used within the People layer and explicit comparison flows.

4. Location Privacy

If you allow location access, we use it only for the live features that need it, such as showing your current context or attaching a place to a moment. We do not publish your exact location to other users by default.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes all your personal data, moments, memories, momentum, people data, and profile structure. Some anonymized analytics data may be retained for product improvement.

You can also export a copy of all your data at any time from Settings.

6. Data Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Places API: for location search when attaching places to moments and related flows.
• Resend: for transactional email delivery.
• Railway / Vercel: for hosting and database services.
